The 6-2 Packers got back on the field today after enjoying a three day weekend. The 34-17 victory last Thursday night against the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara was rewarded with a mini-bye for the team. It will be their last break until the end of the regular season. Eight straight weekends lie ahead.
It felt almost like an early training camp practice as the team worked out the kinks by working up a sweat wearing helmets and shorts in sunny, breezy and unseasonably warm 75 degrees. Not bad for November 9 in Wisconsin.
Two of the five players who wound up on the Reserve/Covid list in the last week were back on the field. Running back Jamaal Williams and linebacker Kamal Martin tested negative for the virus through the weekend after being put on the list two days later the loss to the Minnesota Vikings. They were high risk close contact subjects of rookie running back A.J. Dillon who was the first to test positive in the regular season. Dillon has still not returned.
Linebacker Krys Barnes who tested positive on Friday after the 49ers game, along with his roommate, Jordan Love, a close contract were also not on Ray Nitschke Field.
Jaire Alexander remained away while in the concussion protocol after getting knocked out of the 49er game last week. Will Redmond and Rick Wagner also didn’t take part today.
But Alexander’s running mate at corner was a welcome sight.

Kevin King back on the practice field.
Kevin King, who has missed three games with a quad injury returned to the practice field. Also working was David Bakhtiari but he’s also been sidelined with what the team has said is a chest injury.
At Matt LaFleur’s post practice zoom session, a reporter broached the subject of the possibility of broken ribs but the Head Coach would not confirm that’s the reason he’s been out since mid-October.
The team will take it’s regular Tuesday off before beginning preparations in earnest for the 1-7 Jacksonville Jaguars, coming to Lambeau Field this Sunday.
