WEYAUWEGA, WI (WSAU) — The 26-year-old Appleton woman killed during a Thursday morning crash in Waupaca County has been identified.
Officers say Genesis Stanton was killed when the vehicle she was driving was hit head-on by another car that was trying to pass a semi. Stanton was pregnant, and first responders were unable to save her unborn child.
The driver of the second vehicle was identified as a 19-year-old woman from South Milwaukee. She, along with two other passengers in the second vehicle, was taken from the scene with non-life-threatening injuries.
No information was released on the driver of the semi.
The crash happened along US Highway 10 near Weyauwega. Officers are continuing to investigate the incident.
