MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – Giannis Antetokounmpo reportedly had expressed interest in teaming up with Wizards star Bradley Beal.
ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst stated on Friday that a trade bringing Beal to Milwaukee “appealed to Giannis in the past.”
The Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks are the teams at the “forefront” of trade negotiations involving Beal, according to Windhorst, who made an appearance on ESPN’s Get Up on Thursday.
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN also reported that if the Wizards decide to trade Beal, they will need to have him essentially choose where he goes for Beal to waive his no-trade clause.
If Khris Middleton decides to leave for another team, Beal would be a strong replacement and would be the ideal complementary scorer to pair with Antetokounmpo.
The Wizards’ desire to acquire young players, according to Windhorst, would require the Bucks to put together some sort of three-team sign-and-trade deal, and even then, Milwaukee might not have the assets required to make a deal happen.
