WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A downtown Wausau concert venue will close next week.
Whitewater Music Hall will close after Sunday’s events, according to a series of Facebook posts by the venue’s management team. They called the decision “impossibly difficult and gut-wrenching.”
No specific reason for the closure was given, though management did acknowledge many “imense challenges.”
Whitewater opened six years ago in the former Masonic Temple building and was home to numerous events, concerts, and other performances like comedy shows. It also played host to many Democratic party events including a visit from former Vice Presidental Candidate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
