CHICAGO, IL (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers dropped the final game of their three-game road series against the Chicago White Sox 8-0.
Brewers starting pitcher Chad Patrick took the loss after he went 5.2 innings, allowing three earned runs and six hits against a struggling White Sox offense that had lost seven of their last nine games heading into Thursday.
Third baseman Miguel Vargas was Chicago’s top performer on the day after he hit a key three-run home run in the 6th inning off of former Brewers top prospect Craig Yoho, who pitched just one inning after having one of his toughest games in the big leagues to date, allowing five earned runs on three hits. Yoho now holds a 9.53 ERA through five major league appearances this season.
Up next, the Brewers will return to Milwaukee for a three-game weekend series against the Chicago Cubs. Quinn Priester will get the start for the Brewers, while the Cubs will send Ben Brown to the mound for Friday night’s matchup. The first pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. on WSAU.
