WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Wausau West held a signing day for all of their seniors that are enlisting in the military after graduation.
For the first time ever, the school is recognizing 6 of their students that will be taking the next steps in their career. Members from the U.S. Army, Air Force, and Navy all attended, to personally congratulate and award these students.
Senior Sophia Neuman, was recognized as she committed to the U.S. Army. She said, “I really appreciate that because in the past years I haven’t seen anything like this from other schools, like D.C. Everest, or West, or East, or anything. So I really appreciate this because I feel like this is a really big part of my future, like this is legitimately my whole future that we are going into, so I really appreciate that they are noticing.”
The students will be graduating a couple weeks later, and are excited for the road ahead of them. The military members all wanted to thank Wausau West for giving their amazing students an opportunity to be celebrated for their bravery. The students are also appreciative, as they know that what they do is just as important as anyone else.
