MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin men’s basketball team has scheduled another high-profile neutral site game for the 2025-’26 season.
Multiple reports indicate that the Badgers will meet Villanova at Fiserv Forum on December 19th. It’ll be the first meeting between the schools since Wisconsin’s Nigel Hayes scored a buzzer-beater to defeat the top-seeded Wildcats in the 2017 NCAA tournament.
The two sides will meet again in 2026 at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center. The return trip won’t be much of a neutral-site game. Villanova splits their regular-season home dates between the on-campus Finneran Pavilion and the home of the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers.
Earlier this week, we also learned that Greg Gard’s club has scheduled a two-game series with Brigham Young University. Those games will be played in a similar fashion, with the Badgers and Cougars meeting at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City this season, and then at the Fiserv Forum next season.
Wisconsin is also scheduled to take part in the Rady’s Children’s Invitational in San Diego alongside Texas Christian, Florida, and Providence. Wisconsin will play two games in the bracketed event, with first-round matchups to be announced at a later date.
