WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Mosinee woman pleaded no contest to one count of fleeing or eluding an officer this week, a charge that will cost her 18 months in prison.
Amber Boyd was handed the sentence during a plea hearing on Thursday. She will also serve 30 months, or about 2.5 years, on extended supervision. Charges stem from a chase through Kronenwetter that reached speeds of 110 MPH, which started after officers tried to pull the 26-year-old over when they saw her swerving across the center line.
Officers terminated the chase, then later found Boyd’s car abandoned in a residential driveway. She turned herself in after a warrant was issued for her arrest.
She had been facing up to six years in prison on the charge, which also carried a repeat offender add-on due to her 2022 guilty plea for one count of child neglect. She was on extended supervision at the time of the most recent charge.
