RHINELANDER, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – An Oneida County Judge has denied a woman’s request to reduce her own sentence in the deaths of her parents.
Ashlee Martinson was convicted of killing her parents east of Rhinelander in 2015. Martinson was 17 when she shot her stepfather and then stabbed her mother.
Martinson’s defense said that abuse in the home is what prompted the killings.
Martinson, now 27 years of age, asked the court for a reduction in her 23-year sentence in June. According to online court records, the request was denied earlier this month.
