WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — The Wood County Sheriff’s Office has announced federal and state child pornography charges against a 64-year-old man.
Dennis McCullough is accused of possessing and soliciting child pornography on his devices, the result of an investigation led by the Wood County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI. During the investigation, McCullough admitted to receiving images from children through multiple social media apps.
Officers add that McCullough was already on the state sex offender registry because of a previous violation, leading them to involve federal agents.
A federal indictment against him came down earlier this week. Officers in Wood County are also recommending state charges, including possessing child sexual abuse material, exposing a minor to harmful material, and grooming a child for sexual activity.
He faces up to 20 years in prison on the federal charges. State court action is pending.
Court records show previous charges against him date back to 2021.
