WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Las Vegas favorite and former late-night TV powerhouse will help christen the newly remodeled Grand Theater in Wausau.
Wayne Newton will open the 2026-’27 series on November 7th with a one-night only performance on November 7th. Newton has sold out thousands of shows over six decades in Las Vegas, earning him the title of “Mr. Las Vegas.” It will be the first of more than a dozen shows over the last two months of the year in the new-look venue.
A live-stage production of Clue, based on the Paramount Pictures film and classic board game, will be in town for two performances on November 9th and 10th. A trio of musical acts will follow with Blind Boys of Alabama on November 12th, Blood, Sweat, and Tears on the 19th, and the Vienna Boys Choir performing their Christmas show on November 21st.
The last show of the year will be a Country Christmas concert on December 17th. Officials expect to name the performer later this month. The new year will bring a stand-up performance from long-time Tonight Show host Jay Leno on January 22nd
The Book of Mormon, HYPROV (hypnosis improv comedy), Catapult Magic Show, and tributes to The Eagles, ABBA, and Michael Bublé are also on the schedule.
Tickets for all shows will go on sale at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, June 2nd, starting with the season preview party at the Rothschild Pavilion. Patrons should note that the Grand’s ticketing office has moved to accommodate construction at the theater. Those who would like to purchase tickets in person can do so at 115 N. Sixth Street.
