MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Jacob Misiorowski one-upped himself again, recording a 104 MPH fastball in a 6-0 complete game shutout of the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday.
The second-year starter allowed just one hit and struck out 15, needing just 95 pitches to finish the game. Despite allowing one hit, he faced the minimum 27 batters as Bryce Harper ended the 4th inning by grounding into a double play, canceling out a Kyle Schwarber single earlier in the inning.
Every Phillie struck out at least once, except Alec Bohm.
Joey Ortiz recorded two hits, including a double, from the nine spot in the lineup. William Contreras and Brice Turang also recorded doubles. Jake Bauers blasted a three-run home run in the 5th.
Misiorowski’s gem came on the first anniversary of his Major League debut. He is now 8-2 on the season with a 1.34 ERA.
Milwaukee and Philadelphia play again tonight. Pregame coverage begins at 5:40 PM on WSAU.
