Jason Tourtillott
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — A Nekoosa man accused of killing his father has pleaded no contest to one count of first-degree reckless homicide.
Jason Tourtillott was accused of killing Thomas Tourtillott in July 2021. Thomas was found dead at his home after a report of an unresponsive person, and officers said evidence at the scene suggested foul play.
Jason was immediately named as a suspect but wasn’t taken into custody until January 2025. It’s unclear what evidence led to his arrest.
The 28-year-old had been facing an automatic life sentence for intentional homicide, with only the possibility of parole left to the discretion of the judge. He now faces a Class B felony, which comes with a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison plus up to 20 years on extended supervision.
Sentencing has been scheduled for September 5th.
