WAUKESHA, WI (WSAU) – Wisconsin and Waukesha County have lost a long-time political executive and leader.
According to WISN, Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow, 61, has passed away after a years-long fight with Stage 4 mucinous adenocarcinoma, a rare and incurable kind of stomach cancer thought to have begun in the appendix.
During his time in elected office, Farrow represented Wisconsin State Assembly District 98 from 2011 to 2012. In November 2012, Farrow won the Republican primary for the 33rd Senate District, which was left vacant by Rich Zipperer. He resigned from the Assembly in December 2012 to take up his Senate seat. After serving in the State Senate until 2015, he was elected Waukesha County Executive, a position he maintained until this year. He also served as Chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin from 2021 to 2022.
Farrow had also served two key federal policy advisory positions. First, in 2018, he was appointed to the Intergovernmental Policy Advisory Committee (IGPAC), which advises the United States Trade Representative on trade policy issues affecting state and local governments. Second, he contributed to two of the White House’s 2017 Infrastructure Summits in Washington, D.C., along with other state and local authorities.
