STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — A Stevens Point man has been formally charged with homicide for the death of Jeannette Pientka.
Lyndon Hood appeared in court on Monday, accused of stabbing Jeannette Pientka on July 21st. The 57-year-old was found dead in her Town of Carson home after dispatchers received a report of someone suffering serious, traumatic injuries.
A motive for the attack remains unclear. Hood remains jailed on a $1 million bond and is awaiting a public defender. He’s due to return to court on August 31st.
The 60-year-old has not entered a plea to the charge.
Sara Pientka, who was also arrested in connection with Jeannette’s death, has been charged with two misdemeanor counts, including failure to report a crime and resisting or obstructing an officer. During Monday’s hearing, a judge reduced her bond from $500,000 cash to $5,000 signature bond, with the first $1,000 paid in cash by Thursday, August 22nd.
A judge entered a not guilty plea on her behalf. She returns to court on September 14th for a scheduling conference.
Sara and Jeannette are sisters. A GoFundMe has been established for Jeannette’s funeral expenses. As of Monday evening, more than $8,000 has been raised.
