GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers are without their starting running back this week as he continues to rehab an injury.
According to Packers head coach Matt LaFleur, who spoke to team reporter Wes Hodkiewicz on Tuesday morning before practice, Josh Jacobs is rehabbing from a groin injury that will keep him out of practice “for at least this week.”
Previous reports from the team indicate that Jacobs’ injury is not expected to be serious or long-term, and the team does not expect it to impact the start of the regular season.
One of the players gathering the most attention throughout training camp has been backup running back MarShawn Lloyd despite not making his regular-season Packers debut since being drafted in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft due to hamstring and ankle injuries.
If Jacobs were to miss any regular-season games this season, LaFleur would need Lloyd as well as veteran Chris Brooks to step up and take the bulk of the carries.
