MADISON, WI (WSAU) — A federal judge has sentenced a Wausau man to prison time for possessing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine intended for distribution.
Sher Khang will serve five years in prison and five years on supervised release after pleading guilty to the charge in May. The 40-year-old sold 27 grams of methamphetamine to an undercover informant in Wisconsin Rapids in October 2025. Officers arrested him a short time later, and a search of his vehicle turned up 320 grams of methamphetamine, $400 in cash, drug packaging, and an item that appeared to be a homemade weapon.
Federal Judge James D Peterson handed down the sentence, noting that Khang’s “criminal history and prior performance on supervision were troubling.”
The Central Wisconsin Narcotics Task Force handled the investigation along with officers from multiple local and county agencies across the region.
