Green Bay Packers
DENVER, CO (WSAU) — A big second quarter lifted the Green Bay Packers to a 33-13 win over the Denver Broncos on Friday.
Jordan Love hit MarShawn Lloyd from 11 yards out to cap a first-quarter scoring drive, the only significant action of the game for Green Bay’s starting QB. From there, Kyle McCord got the bulk of the action; the Syracuse graduate went 12/19 for 118 yards. Tyrold Taylor went 4/8 with a touchdown.
Pierre Strong had eight carries for 37 yards. Jaden Nixon took four carries for 20 yards and a touchdown.
Rookie kicker Trey Smack had another strong performance, going 4/4 on field goal attempts (long of 59 yards). He also went 3/3 on extra points.
Green Bay is now 1-1 on the preseason and will host Arizona on Friday, August 28th for one last tune-up. The two teams will also hold joint practices in Green Bay leading up to the game.
