RIB MOUNTAIN, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — Raising Cane’s has opened its doors in Rib Mountain, and many residents were celebrating the addition of a national chain to the area.
“When it comes to the talent attraction and retention efforts that are happening locally, adding a national franchise is key,” Brian Otten, Marketing and Workforce Development Director at the Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce, told WAOW TV.
But what challenges come with adding a national name to an already busy business district? The restaurant has that covered. “We have six people on staff right now to help manage our traffic flow. We are going to try to be the least disruptive for all the businesses right behind us, and for the community customers that are trying to go from one end to the other end,” said Matt Moon, Area Leader of Restaurants at Raising Cane’s.
Traffic wasn’t an issue for some hungry customers, who rose bright and early for the grand opening.
“We both got here around 5:30 A.M.,” said Ethan Roberts and Melissa Fandrey, the first and second customers in line.
Roberts spent 10 years in Arizona with easy access to Raising Cane’s. “I’ve been missing it so bad,” said Roberts.
