SAINT GERMAIN, WI (WSAU-WAOW) A Vilas County home is damaged after a Monday night fire.
The Sheriff’s Department says it happened at 6:30pm on State Highway 155 in Saint Germain township.
When crews arrived at the home, they saw heavy smoke coming from the home and flames inside.
The homeowner was home at the time of the fire, but was able to evacuate and call 911.
Based on the initial investigation, crews believe the fire may have started in the kitchen and spread throughout the house into the attic. The cause is still under investigation.
