WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Downtown Wausau’s summer tradition returns on Wednesday.
The first Concert on the Square will bring The Now, a Wisconsin-based cover band, to the stage in the 400 Block at 6 PM. Wausau Events Executive Director, Brooklyn Hess, says this year’s version of the 13-week concert series will be no different than any previous season, despite construction around the Grand Theater. “You’re going to see pretty minimal impact,” said Hess. “We will be utilizing the same setup as always, so the 400 Block will look pretty familiar [for visitors.]”
Hess adds that this year’s lineup leans towards fan-favorite artists, including Brad Emanuel, Rising Phoenix, Johnny and the MoTones, and Hip Pocket.
Concerts begin at 6:00 PM each night. Carry-ins are welcome, and food trucks will be on site.
Concert goers are welcome to reserve their spots on the 400 Block lawn, though Hess says if you plan to do so with a blanket, you should wait until after 4:00 PM. Any blankets put down before that time will be removed and can be claimed at the Wausau Events office the next day. Lawn chairs are encouraged and can be placed anytime throughout the day.
