MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers are officially calling up one of their top prospects to the big leagues.
According to a Brewers post on X, Cooper Pratt, the franchise’s fourth-ranked prospect, will join the team during their upcoming series against the Cleveland Guardians after signing an eight-year, $50 million deal in April. In response to the move, Milwaukee is moving Andrew Fischer, a 2025 first-round pick, from High-A Appleton to AA Biloxi.
Pratt, 21, is hitting .241 with six home runs and 32 RBIs for the Sounds this season and is projected to play third base for Milwaukee when in the lineup, while Fischer has been one of the top hitters in the minor leagues, hitting .298 with 20 home runs and 50 RBIs for the Timber Rattlers this season.
Milwaukee hopes that Pratt will provide their lineup with more consistency at third base, as Luis Rengifo has struggled to produce at the plate, hitting only .205 and has yet to hit a home run this season, while David Hamilton has hit .231 with only 11 RBIs.
