MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The brewers beat the Guardians, 9-4 on Wednesday night, and will play for a series sweep on Thursday afternoon.
Christian Yelich and Jackson Churio hit home runs. Churio’s 2-run shot in the 4th inning gave him 6 home runs over the last 7-games.
Rookie shortstop Cooper Pratt got his first major-league hit and scored his first run.
Cleveland got withing 5-4 after a Daniel Schneemann grand slam. Reliever Chad Patrick came into the game, worked 3 1/3 innings, and got the win. He struck out 7.
The Brewers and Guardians play Thursday at 12:35pm on WSAU. Shane Drohan (3-2) is scheduled to pitch for Milwaukee.
