MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers will have one of their all-time great pitchers back on the mound on Monday night after a stint on the 15-Day injured list.
According to a post on X from the team, starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff has rejoined the Brewers and will start tonight in Cincinnati, while relief pitcher Drew Rom has been assigned to AAA-Nashville.
Before suffering from right shoulder inflammation last month, Woodruff had a 3.60 ERA through 30.0 innings pitched in the 2026 regular season, with a 2-1 win-loss record and 25 strikeouts in six starts for the Milwaukee Brewers.
Woodruff, 33, is one of only two starting pitchers in team history to have been selected to multiple All-Star Games, joining Ben Sheets (4 times), and needs just 33 more strikeouts to pass Jim Slaton for fifth place in franchise pitching strikeouts.
He will face off against the Cincinnati Reds at 6:10 p.m. CST on WSAU that is without star shortstop Elly De La Cruz for at least one more day, as reports indicate that he will return to the Reds’ lineup on Tuesday.
