MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Bucks made two important additions to their roster on Tuesday night by selecting one of the top guards and forwards in the 2026 NBA Draft.
The Bucks selected former Arizona point guard Brayden Burries, 20, at 10th overall to provide head coach Taylor Jenkins more versatility behind Kevin Porter Jr., Ryan Rollins, and Kasparas Jakučionis, as Milwaukee continues to add more youthful pieces to its post-Giannis Antetokounmpo roster.
Burries, a first-team All-Big 12 and Big 12 All-Freshman Team member, averaged 16.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game for the Wildcats during the 2025-26 NCAA season, appearing in 39 games and shooting 49.1% from the field and 39.1% from three.
Scouts compare Burries to Boston’s Derrick White and Atlanta’s Nickeil Alexander-Walker because he has the ability to be a high-level two-way impact guard in the NBA.
With the 13th overall pick, obtained from the Miami Heat on Monday night, the Bucks selected Tennessee forward Nate Ament, who reportedly received a promise from the Bucks at a private workout in New York City last week.
Ament, 19, was named second-team All-SEC and SEC All-Freshman after averaging 16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 35 games (all starts) as a freshman at Tennessee.
