WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Wausau City Council will consider new regulations on data centers this Tuesday.
Mayor Doug Diny says the ordinance would give the city more control over elements like power and water consumption, light and noise output, and parking.
Data center facilities would also be limited to building in industrial zones within the city.
Diny calls the ordinance a proactive approach to the new technology, adding that there are no proposals on the table.
