SCHOFIELD, WI (WSAU) — The Greenheck Group’s annual golf outing will help send six Veterans to Washington, DC as part of an upcoming Never Forgotten Honor Flight.
According to a press release, 99 golfers took part in the event. Members of the company’s Special Events Team delivered the $3,400 check to Honor Flight leadership this week.
Never Forgotten Honor Flight Vice President Jim Campbell says it’s fundraisers like this that keep the organization afloat. “If we didn’t get donations like this, we don’t fly, bottom line. In this case, six more local veterans will get to go on their trip of a lifetime because you guys had a lot of fun at a golf outing and gave us a lot of money. It’s awesome,” said Campbell.
Since 2011, the Greenheck Golf Outing has raised enough money to send 37 Veterans to Washington, DC, to tour the memorials dedicated to their service.
