GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers may be without one of their highest-paid players to start the regular season.
According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, guard Aaron Banks is dealing with tendonitis in his knee that worsens when he does “strenuous football movements.” Banks is currently on the PUP list and has yet to have surgery, as the team hopes that patience and rest will help him be ready to play against the Vikings in Week 1.
“I’m taking it day by day,” Banks stated during his interview with Silverstein. “Once it feels good enough, I’ll be ready. We’re moving in the right direction. But it doesn’t feel good enough [for full practice]. You can go out there and do individuals in a controlled setting. We’re just trying to be smart.”
Banks started 14 games for the Packers in 2025, his first season in Green Bay after receiving a $77 million contract in free agency. If Banks misses any games, rookie Jager Burton is slated to take his starting spot.
