MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers got good news after outfielder Garrett Mitchell left Sunday’s game at the Little League World Series against the Braves.
According to Mitchell, who spoke to the media on Sunday night after he was hit by a pitch in his forearm, confirmed that he’s not expecting a stint on the IL, saying, “It hurt. It didn’t feel good, but it’s fine. … I went back in and did a quick X-ray. X-ray was negative.”
Mitchell, 27, has been one of the Brewers’ most productive players this season, appearing in 118 games and hitting.262 with a .781 OPS, nine home runs, 54 RBIs, and 12 stolen bases.
The Brewers have Monday off before heading to New York to face the Mets on Tuesday. Kyle Harrison will start for the Brewers, while Zac Thornton will start for New York.
