Kurtis Holman
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Marshfield man accused of repeated sexual assault of a child has entered a no contest plea to the charges, avoiding a jury trial.
Kurtis Holman entered the plea for one count of first-degree child sexual assault and one count of causing a child under the age of 13 to listen to or view a sex act. Two additional charges were dismissed but read into the record, meaning they can be considered at sentencing.
A judge then found him guilty. Charges stem from a 2024 complaint accusing the 37-year-old of repeated sexual assault of the same child. Investigators say the assaults began in 2018 and continued for years.
The case had been scheduled for trial, but that was wiped from the calendar two weeks ago after the sides agreed to the deal.
Holman will face up to 47.5 years in prison and 25 years on extended supervision plus fines. A presentence investigation will be completed over the next 45 days; sentencing will be scheduled at a hearing on September 15th.
