MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association gubernatorial debate will no longer take place after one of the candidates failed to accept the invitation.
According to a press release from the WBA, “Two invitations were sent, and both had to be accepted to have a debate. That did not happen.” The debate was scheduled for October 9th, and the release did not indicate which candidate declined to respond. This will mark the first time in 36 years that the WBA won’t host a debate for Wisconsin gubernatorial candidates.
Voters will get an opportunity to see Republican candidate Tom Tiffany and Democrat candidate David Crowley debate the issues on WISN-TV on October 21st.
