(LEARFIELD/WNFL) Ready or not, the regular season is upon the Green Bay Packers when they face the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at boisterous U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love talked about dealing with the noise in that place.
Love also talked about the evolution of center Sean Rhyan.
Love was asked if the Packers will have to score more with Micah Parsons sidelined on the defensive side,
Love said that one of the keys to the game on Sunday will be being efficient with the ball.
Love also addressed what he has to do without Josh Jacobs in the backfield.
Love was asked about getting better every year at quarterback.
And then he talked about where he as grown the most as a starter.
To the defense: The Packers will open the season on Sunday with a new defensive co-ordinator in Jonathan Gannon.
Packers safety Xavier McKinney said that Green Bay has a few tricks up their sleeve for Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray, but they have plenty of respect for the him.
McKinney was asked if they will pressure Murray or concentrate more on dropping into coverage.
McKinney said that the team is looking to set a tone in the opener.
McKinney discussed the keys to success early in the season.
Jacobs in court: Packers running back Josh Jacobs has entered a no contest plea during a Thursday appearance in Brown County Court.
Jacobs told the judge he understands the seriousness of the situation, saying he “takes full responsibility” for his actions.
He was convicted on a battery charge, fined a thousand dollars, and reached a deferred judgement agreement on the criminal damage to property charge.
He returns to court in a year when that last charge could be dismissed.
Who’s hurting: The injury report from the Green Bay Packers on Thursday lists 2 players as “did not participate”. Those 2 playes were defensive tackle Warren Brinson and linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper.
Players with limited participation were offensive lineman Zach Bako-Bewele, guard Aaron Banks, defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, edge Barryn Sorrell and defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt.
Tackle/guard Jordan Morgan who was a limited participant on Wednesday was a full participant on Thursday.
The Vikings had 3 players listed as limited participants – safety Jacob Thomas, safety Jakobe Thomas and tackle Caleb Tiernan.
