ROTHSCHILD, WI (WSAU) — The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a 38-year-old man wanted in connection with a vehicle pursuit that ended when the suspect evaded arrest in Rothschild.
It started on Interstate 39 when officers spotted a vehicle driven by Christopher Connors, who was wanted on felony charges including theft, battery, and disorderly conduct stemming from an incident in Wausau earlier this week. Connors pulled over, then fled as officers spoke with him.
He led officers on a high-speed chase through Kronewetter, ending on Calumet Street in the Village of Rothschild. Officers lost sight of him after he fled on foot.
He was last seen at about 7:25 PM heading south. Since then, officers have conducted numerous searches of the area using drones and K-9 units.
Connors is described as a Black man, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, white shorts with a multicolored pattern, and white shoes. He is not believed to be armed, and officers say there is no danger to the public.
