WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – The South Wood County Neighbors for Responsible Development is holding a public forum on hyperscale data centers and their community impacts on Monday at Lincoln High School’s Performing Arts Center.
The event starts at 6:30pm, with doors opening at 6pm. Guest speakers will discuss environmental impacts, noise concerns, pollution and energy consumption related to hyperscale data centers.
The forum is free and open to the public. Lincoln High School Performing Arts Center is located at 1801 16th Street South in Wisconsin Rapids.
There’s a proposal to turn the old Verso paper mill into a data center. Formal plans for the project have not yet been presented to the city.
