(LEARFIELD) – Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur spent time answering question on Monday about Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings and getting ready for this Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.
LaFleur talked about what he saw from his team in pass protection on Sunday.
LaFleur added this about the work done by the offensive line and the pressure allowed.
LaFleur was asked if he thinks the Jets will copy the Vikings. He said that the Packers will have to clean up some things that they’ll most likely see again.
LaFleur was asked if Aaron Banks can’t play, do they look at a different combination on the offensive line moving forward.
As for the explosiveness of the offense, LaFleur said that the team needs to produce more than 22 points.
He said that they weren’t productive enough in redzone offense.
Defensively, LaFleur talked about the play of rookie cornerback Brandon Cisse. He said that he thought Cisse played well.
Regarding the issue of taking points off the board, LaFleur said that he slept on it and still stands by his decision to give away the three points and go for it on 4th and 1.
Yesterday was also LaFleur’s first real opportunity to address the Packers getting tight end Tucker Kraft signed to an extension.
He noted that Kraft played 45 snaps when 40 was the goal.
Getting back to things the Packers have to clean up, LaFleur talked about the Packers needing to clean things up in the trenches so they draw fewer flags.
Roster moves: The Green Bay Packers signed wide receiver Bo Melton from the practice squad to the active roster and released long snapper Scott Daly from the practice squad. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Monday.
Melton has appeared in 39 games with two starts for the Packers since 2023, hauling in 29 receptions for 426 yards (14.7 avg.) and two TDs while adding 110 rushing yards on 16 carries (6.9 avg.).
