Lyndon Hood
STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — A Stevens Point man accused of killing Jeanette Pientka in July has entered a not guilty plea to one count of intentional homicide and will face a week-long jury trial before the end of the year.
Lyndon Hood is accused of stabbing the 57-year-old during an argument at a home in the Town of Carson, then fleeing the scene. First responders were then called to the scene after someone else reported that she had suffered “severe, traumatic injuries.”
Hood was arrested a few days later along with his girlfriend, Sara Pientka, Jeanette’s sister. Sara was initially charged with homicide alongside Hood, but was later sentenced for a handful of misdemeanors and is serving a jail sentence.

Investigators say Hood had been staying in a home owned by Pientka’s family, which was about to be sold to pay for an elderly relative’s nursing home care. Jeanette had just opened an eviction case against the 60-year-old at the time of her death.
Hood is being held on a $1 million bond. He faces a mandatory life sentence if found guilty at trial.
Court records show at least one victim impact statement has already been filed.
Further court action is scheduled for November 20th and 24th. The five-day trial is scheduled to begin December 7th.
